Help! I need somebody....

This semester, I am taking math 1010. Since I am a highschool drop-out I had to take developmental math to work my way up to college level. Last semester I had an amazing professor by the name of Lorie Paxton, and she taught me very well. I just wish I could say that about my Math professors for 1010.
I am not trying to hate on the math professors at SLCC, but I personally think that if people are constantly switching, and dropping, maybe even failing your classes that you should do something about your learing style. I've switched my math classes twice, and I am still unsatisfied and lost, and am genuinly considering trying to teach myself the material in the learning center because its just too difficult to sit through a lecture where the professor assumes that people are following along. I've talked to a few of my friends to see if anybody could possiable help me with the issue, but everyone I know in 1010 is having the same problem.
I hope to one day teach Commerial Art to junior high students and seriously hope I do not be a teacher who bores and leaves students lost. Its something to think about. So if you are commenting this and know an amazing math 1010 professor let me know!!

  1. Great point, My first semester hear i took math i had a awesome teacher. Even though he was very strict about what happens in his room he was a very good educator and i learned a lot from him. then i took math again the semester after that and ended up with a teacher who moved on just way to fast and i wasn't keeping up with everything being taught. If you want a good teacher to take, switch in with professor cummings, he doesnt move on until he has seen that the whole class is following and understanding whats being taught in class. He also advises students who need extra help before and after class in the technology building, i know he did this 2 semesters ago but im unclear if he still does this now.
